While identical in crown shape and brim width to our classic fedora panama, the Montecristi differs in the quality of the weave. With a grade of 20 rather than 14, and taking approximately 40 days to weave, this extra fineness is clearly visible when the two are compared.
Aside from the visual difference, the higher density of the Montecristi’s weave gives the wearer greater sun protection, while still providing excellent ventilation, and lends the hat a suppleness, increasing longevity and reducing the likelihood of cracking.
The Montecristi fedora is slightly bleached during production to give a whiter appearance, which will darken over time. Finished with a traditional black ribbon and a satin sweatband for comfort, these hats mark the wearer as someone who appreciates the finer things in life.
Please note that the brim width of these pieces may vary slightly due to the limited availability of the higher-grade finish.
